On March 4th, Dennis made the statement that a journey to Nicaragua, this coming Christmas, is in divine order. We must speak in faith, but remember that faith is informed by knowledge and our beliefs about God's Will can be subjective. So we mix subjectivity together with both objectivity and faith in order to live a sincere Christian life on earth. The point is that Dennis thought it was in divine order to go to Central America in what was about 9 and a half months away (now 8 and a half); yet, maybe the divine order is to go to Europe and help the refugees from Ukraine. Either way, we have to humble ourselves as we walk by faith and recognize that God's Will one day may not be His Will the next day; i.e., things change. Perhaps the trip to Nicaragua will still occur during the 2022 Christmas season; but if not, we have to be ok with God's Will for our plans being altered as time elapses.
Hopefully our will can be His as we remain flexible in living our lives each day. It is great to plan but we should be prepared for things to change. If we don't go to Nicaragua this December, maybe we will go there in 2023 (or maybe both years). As far as helping the people affected by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, perhaps we will go there this December. May God's Will be done as we strive to get a small team of people together for some short term out reach this Christmas!
